One of the most interesting points that our group discussed was the idea that “Religious people are against evolution.” From here Nye dives into his explanation of why and how evolution is true. He then goes on to state and explain all of the facts on evolution in his attempt to change the minds of millions of people from around the world. He talks about how we can create different species and how they are formed and bred both naturally and scientifically. The big idea is about how evolution is much more than a rebuttal to creationism, it’s also a better way to look into life itself. This book kind of gave me a good idea of myself in a way, about how I actually became who I am and etc.
This book can be enjoyed and understood by all ages. This is why it is such a good book. Nye takes complex subjects, and shaves them down to a point that anybody can understand them, and that is what makes a good science educator: One who can interest their audience, and get the point across to anybody.
